På Sergels torg is a placemaking initiative in Stockholm. The aim is to revitalise Sergels torg, an iconic central plaza, into a space for people of all ages to experience art and culture. På Sergels torg offers year-round activities accessible to everyone in the heart of Stockholm. 2025 kicks off with performances, workshops, and exhibitions featuring both established and emerging artists. På Sergels torg is a collaboration between the City of Stockholm, local property owners and civil society.
During Stockholm Art Week, artist Malin Gabriella Nordin will be painting the ceiling along Sergelarkaden from April 23 to May 18. The artwork will evolve in dialogue with the space's architecture and the movements within it. Derived from Nordin's sketches—both figurative and abstract—the motifs will spread across the ceiling, merging into a dynamic whole, unified by an intense blue hue. The ceiling painting can be experienced from different angles, shifting in appearance depending on one's viewpoint and movement. It may evoke a starry sky or drifting clouds, where various shapes and constellations emerge to tell their own stories.

The gallery presents a diverse range of Swedish and international artists, working across mediums such as painting, sculpture, photography, and performance art.
During Stockholm Art Week, Galleri Duerr presents Joanne Grüne-Yanoff's second exhibition with the gallery.
In Cassandra’s Escape, visitors are invited into a hidden room where a towering sculpture stretches from earth to sky. The air shimmers with sound—bird wings, heartbeats, whispers, and the song of nightingales. Along the room’s edges, glass flasks line the walls, each containing wax, feathers, wings, twigs, threads, and texts—small vessels of memory and imagination, rooted in both earth and sky. Above them, the walls come alive with images of transformation: hands entangled with threads and wings, texts woven with stories, shifting Cassandras poised for flight. Together, these elements form a sanctuary of reflection, revealing Cassandra’s journey through contemplation, flight, and fleeting escape. During the week the artist herself will be present at the gallery. More information to follow.
Joanne Grüne-Yanoff is an interdisciplinary artist whose poetic work traces the myth of Cassandra—a grounded being whose gaze turns skyward, forever contemplating the act of flight. Her work is represented in the collections of Woodmere Art Museum, Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Free Library of Philadelphia, Region Västernorrland, Region Kalmar, Apotekets Konstförening, Handelsbankens Konstförening, Judisk Kultur i Sverige, Alma Löv Museum, as well as in numerous private collections.

Exhibition: FIGURE IT by ED RUSCHA at Wetterling Gallery
Ed Ruscha, FIGURE IT, 2024
Wetterling Gallery was founded in Sweden in 1978 by Björn Wetterling. Through a dynamic schedule of exhibitions - of both highly acclaimed, international names, and emerging, Sweden-based artists - Wetterling became one of the leading contemporary art galleries in Scandinavia. We consider ourselves a long-term partner for artists, collectors, institutions, and visitors. By providing a unique and playful entrance to the art world, Wetterling Gallery stands for quality and relevance. Our goal is to make art available for a curious audience.
During Stockholm Art Week, Wetterling Gallery is proud to present Ed Ruscha´s exhibition FIGURE IT. Featuring paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints, the exhibition captures shifting emblems of American life over the past half-century and beyond. Ed Ruscha is widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the pop generation. With a unique ability to harness the visual language of commercial advertising, he has created works that are both subtly powerful and poetically resonant. Ed Ruscha´s works of art speak to us with a cool, enigmatic tone—deceptively simple at first glance, yet rich with lingering meaning. At Market Art Fair, Wetterling Gallery is pleased to present the work of artist Amy Simon. A selection of her drawings—this time exploring landscapes and urban vistas—will also be on view at the gallery.

Exhibition: Siiri Jüris at Galleri Duerr
Siiri Jüris, Galleri Duerr, 2025
Galleri Duerr, located in Stockholm’s vibrant gallery district at Hudiksvallsgatan 6, is a contemporary art space owned and directed by Deborah Duerr. The gallery presents a diverse range of Swedish and international artists, working across mediums such as painting, sculpture, photography, and performance art.
During Stockholm Art Week, Galleri Duerr presents Siiri Jüris’ second exhibition with the gallery, entitled To Melt into Your Soil and Sprout as a Flower. This new body of work focuses on coexistence in both the content and medium of her works. Can painting, which has historically been considered a symbol of high culture, exist in symbiosis with the possibilities that artificial intelligence and digital technology provide? Jüris has said that she started using digital tools and artificial intelligence by asking the question of whether and how they could affect her manual work process. Curiosity led her to conduct her first experiments a few years ago. One can find bodyscapes, mystical worlds of her own and distorted perspectives in Jüris’s technically professional and eye-catching works. At first glance, it may even be difficult to understand what one is seeing. Some works have been made by hand, others modelled using 3D printing. The title of the exhibition expresses aptly how artificial intelligence and digital tools can merge into traditional painting and sprout from the seed as something completely new. During the week the artist herself will be present at the gallery. More information to follow.
Siiri Jüris (1992) is an Estonian painter currently living and working in Uppsala, Sweden. She holds a BA and MA in Painting from the University of Tartu (2015, 2017) and an MFA from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (2021). Her paintings are created through an intuitive, slow, and layered process, in which the acrylic material is treated as an active agent, allowing unexpected forms and patterns to emerge. She uses the vibrancy and dullness, fluidity and transparency of the acrylic to create a strong visual experience, combining classical painting techniqueswith arts and crafts and post-internet aesthetics.

Artist talk: Amine Habki at Konstnärshuset
Amine Habki, installation view from Weaving, Stitching, Painting, 2023
Founded in Stockholm in 1991, Andréhn-Schiptjenko was one of the first galleries in Sweden with an international roster, serving as a catalyst for a new generation of contemporary art spaces in Scandinavia. Since its inception the gallery has been committed to the long-term representation of emerging and established contemporary artists working with painting, sculpture, photography, film and digital media as well as installation-based and site-specific work. With the opening of its second space in 2019, Andréhn-Schiptjenko is today based in both Stockholm and Paris.
Artist talk with Amine Habki at Konstnärshuset
Andréhn-Schiptjenko and Konstnärshuset invites you to a talk between Amine Habki and Ashik Zaman, in connection to Habki’s presentation at Market Art Fair. The talk will be held at the Lounge at Konstnärshuset on Tuesday, May 13th at 18:00.
Inspired by his Franco-Moroccan heritage, Amine Habki (b. 2000, France) reimagines traditional notions and representations of masculinity using embroidery and repurposed objects. Each of Habki’s works reveals a micro-narrative intimately tied to his search for identity and exploration of desire. While not autobiographical, his creations feature alter-egos that depersonalize and universalize themes, giving voice to the marginalized and the unseen.
Habki’s work has already been awarded several prestigious awards and in 2024 he presented a solo exhibition at Centre Pompidou-Metz. In November, Habki will have his first solo exhibition with Andréhn-Schiptjenko in Stockholm.
This spring, his works have been presented in a group exhibition at Mennour in Paris, as part of the Mennour Institute’s jury-selected program committed to supporting young artists.

Closing: MAGIC AND RESISTANCE by BOOM! - På Sergels Torg
BOOM!
In the exhibition MAGIC AND RESISTANCE, BOOM! unites magic and sisterhood through glass objects charged with power and spells that protect against misogyny and promote solidarity. These objects, or amulets, manifest the invisible bonds that have connected women throughout history. The idea for the exhibition was born out of a sense of powerlessness in the face of negative societal changes that marginalize women, particularly those who defy norms. Within glass art—where glassblowing can be seen as a modern ritual—BOOM! finds a special kind of magic. Glassblowing is not just a technical process; it is an artistic and spiritual practice where artists play with matter, phenomena, and light. In the realms of art and magic, the past connects with the future, offering a path to liberation, community, and empowerment.
The exhibition is produced by BOOM! with the support of På Sergels torg, a site collaboration project between the city of Stockholm, local property owners and civil society. På Sergels torg contributes to a living Sergels torg where people thrive and stay.

Konsthall 16 is a non-commercial art gallery. It’s the result of a collaboration between Tore A Jonasson’s foundation and Riksidrottsmuseum (the National Sports Museum). The purpose of the foundation is to present temporary exhibitions of contemporary art, to show selected works from the collection and to annually acquire sports-related art and award a number of grants to artists and sports practitioners.
On Wednesday May 14th the opening hours of Hanna Sjöstrand’s exhibition Taverna geometrica is extended until 6pm. The exhibition presents a series of conceptual paintings and reliefs depicting the structure and imagery of football. Her starting point was the first paragraph of Laws of the Game, the common rules adopted at a meeting of English football clubs in a London tavern in October 1863. The geometric forms of the field, and even the inherent nature of the ball itself, are scrutinised and dissected. In Hanna Sjöstrand’s Taverna geometrica, every guest has the opportunity to experience the football pitch from a new angle, to explore its minutest geometrical components, and allow their thoughts to freely contemplate the structure and implications of the game.

Immersive Experience: ANDETAG
ANDETAG Art Week Opening. Photo by Johan Eriksson Terran
ANDETAG is a 200 m² immersive art experience hidden within Stockholm’s Hötorget subway station—an illuminated labyrinth created by artist duo Malin and Gustaf Tadaa. The shoe-free space invites stillness amid the city’s chaos, enveloping visitors in luminous textile sculptures that breathe with life. ANDETAG is a place where art, technology, and ritual converge in an immersive experience that blurs the boundaries between observer and artwork. Each piece is a visual manifestation of Malin’s breath, synchronizing globally to create a shared rhythm. ANDETAG is a subtle revolution — a call to pause, reflect, and feel deeply connected to something greater than ourselves. Guided Tour – The Swedish Bar Association
Philip Baldwin & Monica Guggisberg, Galleri Glas
Galleri Glas was started in 2017 by Anna Bromberg Sehlberg and Elin Forsberg. Right from the start our aim has been to create a focus on contemporary Swedish and international glass art. We wanted to bring new life to an art form with a proud tradition in our Swedish cultural heritage. The gallery soon established itself as a forum for meetings between artists and a knowledgeable public with an interest in unique objects. In recent years we have broadened our programme to embrace exhibitions of other forms of art including painting and photography, though glass art will continue to be our principal focus.

An Amphoric Journey from Antiquity to Modernity
April 24 – May 24, 2025
Galleri Glas, Nybrogatan 34, 114 39 Stockholm
In Amphora: Vessel of Memory, Galleri Glas is pleased to welcome back the internationally renowned artist duo Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg for a new exhibition in which the amphora takes centre stage – as form, symbol, and narrative. With roots in both American and Swiss glassmaking traditions and a long-standing connection to Sweden, the duo explores the archetypal significance of the amphora through a contemporary lens. The exhibition moves between ancient and modern, stillness and movement, the Swedish and the Italian – illuminating glass art as a vessel for history, migration, and cultural exchange. Alongside a new series of sculptural amphorae, the exhibition features a central recurring motif in their practice: the boat, evoking flow, passage, and human migration.

During Stockholm Art Week, Konsthall 16 will host “Cave football – a dramatic, literary and philosophical challenge!”
In conjunction with Hanna Sjöstrand’s exhibition at Konsthall 16, we invite you to a never-before-seen match of cave football. The “cave” prefix refers partly to the fact that the players, who are all artists, writers and actors, play blindfolded, and partly to more philosophical thoughts. The game is played with a silent ball, and the blindfolded players are led in the right direction on the field by two team leaders. In addition to Hanna Sjöstrand herself and the eight people who make up the two teams, the creators and participants include a group of renowned persons in literature and theatre who each contribute linguistically in their own unique way to the match.
Commentator: Nils Markus Karlsson, poet journalist, explorer

Opening: Theresa Traore Dahlberg at Carl Eldhs Ateljémuseum
Carl Eldh (1873–1954) was during the early 20th century one of Sweden’s most prominent sculptors. Today, his former studio is a museum and a place for new artistic research. Among nearly five hundred of the artist’s plaster casts and works, you can also take part in newly produced exhibitions and guided tours.
Carl Eldhs Ateljémuseum is proud to present the internationally acclaimed artist Theresa Traore Dahlberg (b. 1983), renowned for her monumental sculptures and poetic films. Ahead of this summer’s major solo exhibition at Carl Eldhs Ateljémuseum, Traore Dahlberg has worked primarily with new and site-specific works. Here we encounter sculptures in melted bronze, copper, hand-blown glass and yarn – materials that carry their own memories. In dialogue with the studio and the surrounding garden, the museum’s inherent history is also brought to life. The story of Elise and Brita Eldh, their close relationship, between a mother and daughter, is put in a new light. Through Theresa’s gaze, we see for the first time a composite selection of visuals from the family’s time in Los Angeles during the early 20th century. Dreamy, playful and sometimes suggestive images, which in their documentary form works as a capsule of a bygone era.

Curator-led tour: Marina Xenofontos – Overnight Coup Plan at Mint
Marina Xenofontos, Overnight Coup Plan 2025
Mint invites you to a guided tour by the exhibition’s curator, Emily Fahlén.
Mint is a non-profit exhibition space situated in the Workers’ Educational Association in central Stockholm. Focusing on contemporary art, sound and poetry, Mint is embracing experimental practices, cross-generational encounters and site-specific interventions.
Curator-led tour of Marina Xenofontos – Overnight Coup Plan 4.4 – 15.6 2025
Overnight Coup Plan by Marina Xenofontos (1988, Limassol) is a fragmented biography through the gaze of geography and memory, including a newly commissioned short film and sculptural works. The exhibition marks the first presentation of Xenofontos’s work in Sweden. Following a group of girls’ journey from Limassol to Ayia Napa, Marina Xenofontos’ short film tracks the motions of an average night out, while simultaneously navigating the more obscure undercurrents of the landscapes and locations they inhabit. Marina Xenofontos’ work employs film and sculpture to consider the inevitability of failure and the marginalisation of personal narratives in civic spaces. By shaping interpretations and meanings, she explores interrelated facets of simulations, objects, and translations that allow for the remembrance of symbols and errors in their functions. Power structures of civic spaces are reimagined via an exploration of anecdotal stories and coincidental epitomes that represent sardonic reflections on mechanisms of production and understandings of history.
Marina Xenofontos (1988, Limassol) lives and works in Athens, Greece. Recent solo exhibitions include Eternal, Returns at Fondazione Morra Greco, Naples (2025); View From Somewhere Near at Kunstverein in Hamburg (2024); Public Domain at Camden Art Centre in London (2023); In Practice at SculptureCenter in New York (2023); Carousel at AKWA IBOM in Athens (2022); I don’t sleep, I dream at The Island Club in Limassol (2021). She is the recipient of the Frieze Emerging Artist Award 2022 and recently participated in the 15th Baltic Triennial in Lithuania.

Exhibition Opening: Tender Unknown presented by SEART
Sanna Fogelvik, Tender Unknown
SEART (Sweden's Emerging Art) is an inintiative to support, promote and boost the arts and artists since 2012. During Stockholm Art Week, SEART will present artist Sanna Fogelvik´s site-specific installation titled "Tender Unknown" in the charming 18th-century belvedere / Lusthuset at Spökparken, right in the middle of the city.
Using 3D animation, sound and photography, Sanna Fogelvik creates a world where the visitor meets trees turned into distorted, otherworldly versions of themselves. This hybrid reality interacts with the pavilion's interior while engaging in dialogue with the park outside. Digitally transforming and deforming 3D scans from the natural world nearby, Fogelvik invites visitors to reflect on their connection to the familiar. Pinhole photos offer another dimension, where landscapes are rediscovered as something mysterious and unfamiliar. Trees stand at the center of this work, as a non-human lifeforms that are often perceived as individuals, and with whom we share deep emotional bonds. While we cherish these entities, their existence is frequently threatened by our actions. Composer Julie Zhu (US) has collaborated on the soundscape, merging together bells and murmurs as the voice of this world.

Curator-led introduction: Madeleine Andersson - SHOCK VALUE, at Index
Madeleine Andersson, SHOCK VALUE, installation view, Index Foundation, 2025, Photo: Aron Skoog
Index has a history of more than 40 years behind it. Firstly, with a focus on photography and publishing, and for the last 25 years with contemporary art as its cultural sphere. Index has multiple public roles as an art institution. Index understand that the role of an art institution like Index does not begin and end with an exhibition – instead there is an ongoingness to the activities, research processes, learning programs and relationships between Index, artists and audiences.
During Stockholm Art Week, Index will host a curator-led introduction to the exhibition Madeleine Andersson: SHOCK VALUE. You are welcome to join for a cup of coffee and an enlightening conversation in the gallery.
SHOCK VALUE, a solo exhibition by Madeleine Andersson, bringing together new and existing sculptures and video works in a total installation. Andersson investigates the paradox of the “scientific method”, where on the one side science must be constantly questioned whereas on the other it must be considered fact. Andersson’s multimedia installation questions science inherent fixation on progression and results, and instead explores its experimental, absurd, stupid and almost artistic nature. Madeleine Andersson (b. 1993, Jönköping, SE) is an artist based in Copenhagen, with a research-based practice which concerns the absurdity of technology, science and human intelligence. The work by Andersson has previously exhibited at O–Overgaden, Copenhagen (2024), documenta institute, Kassel (2024), Vermillion Sands, Copenhagen (2024), Färgfabriken, Stockholm (2023); NSFW, Gothenburg (2023),Bærum Kunsthal (2022) and Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen (2022).

Limited Exhibition: Tender Unknown presented by SEART

Founded in 2022, Public Service Gallery shows an innovative programme with a global outlook, by showcasing a wide array of visual proposals, from emerging and mid-career artists.
Join us for the release of "A Bunch of Sculptures Dreaming of the Light", the first monograph dedicated to the Gothenburg based Swedish artist Olof Marsja. Through a length of almost 300 pages, a selection of roughly 150 images, and a critical apparatus featuring essays from the internationally renowned curator Johan Deurell, and author and sound artist Pär Thörn, joined by a long interview with curator Mattia Lullini, the book presents in full the first 9 years' practice of one of the most relevant artists of his generation in Sweden. From his institutional debut as the winner of the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation Grant to his latest exhibitions at the Gothenburg Museum of Art and Buffalo AKG Art Museum, this publication celebrates and opens to the public the full spectrum and richness of Marsja's sculptural world, where pop culture and industrial design meet history and traditions connected to his Sámi heritage and Duodji (Sámi craft), and a wide range of materials and techniques join together addressing questions of identity, history and our contemporary world.
The book is published by NEVVEN EDITIONS, the independent publishing house of the Gothenburg based art gallery NEVVEN. During the release event, the artist will be present and sign copies of the book.
This event is organised on the occasion of Olof Marsja's solo exhibition "A Gathering of Watchers, Seers and Geists Discussing the Probability of Them Experiencing the True Light", co-organised by Public Service Gallery and NEVVEN.

In this spring's major Dick Bengtsson exhibition "The Unseen", art critic and curator Daniel Birnbaum and acclaimed artist Cecilia Edefalk meet in a conversation about one of Sweden's most mythical artists. The talk will be held in swedish.

The construction of her fabrics is dictated by available material and often includes off-cuts from earlier works, accumulatively stitched together into patchworks that contain the stories of their making. Farah’s practice is self-sufficient in that her works are generated from pre-sourced materials, home-grown pigments and fundamental environmental factors such as sunlight rather than automated processes or global supply chains.

Limited Exhibition: Tender Unknown presented by SEART
Opening Hours:
Friday: 14.00-18.00
Saturday: 12:00-16:00

Art is the starting-point from which we embark on discussions with our visitors, with other art forms such as literature, music and film, and with the community at large. It is through art’s strength and capacity to interpret and comprehend our times that Bonniers Konsthall retains its relevance.

Artist Talk: Storm Philippa Clarén at WAY gallery Sthlm
Storm Philippa Clarén
WAY gallery Sthlm is a dynamic and innovative art gallery located in the heart of Stockholm. Founded with the vision of promoting contemporary art and creating a platform for both emerging and promising artists. Our gallery strives to offer an inspiring and inclusive environment where art and culture can thrive. Through carefully curated exhibitions, events, and collaborations, we are committed to presenting artworks that not only challenge and inspire but also provoke discussion and reflection.
WAY gallery welcome you for an artist talk with Storm Philippa Clarén, where she will share insights into her creative process and the mythological, symbol-laden universe that informs her work in SYND.
For the past three years, Philippa has explored a world where the line between utopia and dystopia is blurred—drawing inspiration from the Louise Bourgeois quote: “I have been to hell and back. And let me tell you, it was wonderful.” Her sculptures conjure a universe where demons are mischievous rather than menacing, and bunnies carry layered meanings—from innocence and fear to sexuality and mortality.
Many of her works take the form of busts—a historically male-dominated format—now inhabited by wide-eyed rabbits, sassy devils, and fantastical creatures. This playful inversion replaces the philosopher’s marble with something far more subversive: court jesters in leopard print, Bridget Jones in bunny ears, and hybrid beings born from clay and fantasy literature.
Philippa’s work draws heavily on storytelling. With audiobooks as a constant studio companion, her recent sculptures have been shaped by the world of Robin Hobb’s Realm of the Elderlings—filled with sea serpents, prophets, and queer-coded jesters. Echoes of Tove Jansson’s Moomins and pop-cultural icons like Powerpuff Girls’ Him, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and David Bowie can also be found in her vibrant, ambiguous characters.
Is this a dream or a nightmare? A utopia or a hellish playpen? In her artist talk, Philippa invites us into this ambivalent terrain—where sculpting becomes a form of storytelling, mythmaking, and maybe even a little world-building of her own.
Extended opening hours:
13 –16 May: 12:00–19:00
17 May: 11:00–17:00

Artist presentation: Richard Johansson at Galleri Magnus Karlsson
Richard Johansson, M/S Evigheten, 2024
Galleri Magnus Karlsson was founded in 1990, located for the first 7 years in Västerås, 100 km west of Stockholm. It gradually gained a reputation as one of the most interesting contemporary galleries in Sweden, moving to Stockholm in 1997. The focus of the gallery has been to present emerging artists from Sweden and establish long term relations and representations. The gallery is located on the ground floor of The Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts on Fredsgatan 12.
During Stockholm Art Week, Richard Johansson will present his exhibition M/S Eternity in the inner room of the gallery.
Richard Johansson’s (Sweden, b. 1966) works could be excerpts from a road movie without end. They involve in a constant search for stories and encounters with characters waiting to be discovered. The journey goes beyond the highways and meanders into the darkness, ever closer to the core of existence. An imagery that tenderly depict memories, dreams and personal heroes. Richard works in a large variety of techniques and skillfully switches between different materials and expressions.
M/S Eternity, the title of the exhibition, is also a large sized sculpture in aluminum and wood, depicting a ship. The work was created in connection with the loss of his father and is both a tribute and a meditation on time, transition and memory. Surrounding the sculpture is a series of small paintings that reflect on the people and moments that shape us, even if they often go unnoticed. The works carry both melancholy and humor, much like life itself.
In the main gallery we present Bruno Knutman’s (Sweden, 1930–2017) exhibition Fjärrskådaren (The Remote viewer). Knutman is often described as one of Sweden’s first pop artists, yet his work carries a distinctive melancholy that sets it apart from the bright optimism typically associated with the genre. His imagery leans more towards a muted, dreamlike surrealism with mysterious and thought-provoking motives. A favourite among fellow artists, Knutman developed a visual language all his own, slightly naïve in style and layered with both clarity and ambiguity, offering a body of work that continues to fascinate and challenge. The exhibition presents a curated selection of paintings on paper made between 1979 and 2009.

Artist Talk: Christina Berglund at Galleri Artem
Galleri Artem is a contemporary art gallery and will during Stockholm Art Week 2025 be exhibiting a solo show with Christina Berglund.
In her solo show “Närverna”, Christina Berglund uses photo collage as a form of expression in her artistic work. The photographs she cuts apart and then assembles are always her own. Some of the photographs are specifically produced for a series of images or ideas, while others come about by putting together the large number of leftover pieces she has in her studio. The motifs, which come from her immediate surroundings, are repeated and therefore reappear in new contexts. As a whole, the images and the artistic process are her way of relating to the world around her. In the exhibition Närverna, Christina Berglund has gone back in time in a family history that began with a collection of letters.

Artist presentation at Market Art Fair: Bella Rune and Alejandro Sintura
Alejandro Sintura and Bella Rune
Galleri Magnus Karlsson was founded in 1990, located for the first 7 years in Västerås, 100 km west of Stockholm. It gradually gained a reputation as one of the most interesting contemporary galleries in Sweden, moving to Stockholm in 1997. The focus of the gallery has been to present emerging artists from Sweden and establish long term relations and representations. The gallery is located on the ground floor of The Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts on Fredsgatan 12.
Bella Rune and Alejandro Sintura will present their works in our booth at Market Art Fair on Saturday 17.5 at 4 PM
At Market Art Fair 2025 we are delighted to present a two person show with artists Bella Rune (Sweden, b. 1971) and Alejandro Sintura (Colombia, b. 2000). Although we see it as two solo presentations, we are interested in the meeting and collision of these very different artistic practices. Bella Rune’s three-dimensional sculptures occupying the space and Alejandro Sintura’s paintings installed on the surrounding walls. Both artists will show new works made for the fair.
In the installation, they approach each other in a curious dialogue. It is exciting to let two artists from different generations and cultures meet to explore differences and similarities in language and content. There is a point of contact in the use of colour, materiality and the relationship with tactility and abstraction. In their work you can also find common ideas about how the everyday and humble can be transformed into something important and monumental.
At the fair we also present a site-specific textile assemblage by Petra Lindholm at Market Extended. The work is on display in the staircase of the Liljevalchs+ building. Petra Lindholm’s assemblages can initially be perceived as paintings, but are in fact made of textiles. She uses thin fabrics in different colours, that are applied in several layers with glue on panels. Lindholm strives for an existence where she embraces the random and spontaneity that arises in the process. The images grow organically as she adds new layers and physically processes the surfaces with her hand and knife. In the new work for Market Extended she has worked with a landscape motif, but she also has given the abstract and physical qualities more free rein.

“Lidingö on Kungsholmen”
Riddarfjärden Vocal Ensemble performs “Let the Light Shine in the Darkness”
We need to rest in the darkness of the night and draw energy from the daylight. The soothing darkness, undisturbed by destructive forces, serves as the foundation for the life-giving light. This theme is reflected in the music and lyrics performed, inspired by Erik Blomberg's poem "Do not be afraid of the darkness, for the light rests there," with music composed by Karin Rehnqvist. The singers, alternating between full choir, men's voices, and women's voices, move throughout the art exhibition in light mantels over black clothing. The light contains the entire color spectrum, which is reflected in the colors of the mantles. The colors and titles of the mantles are linked to chakra philosophy, with specific energies and colors placed at different positions in the body. The choir singer's vocal range corresponds to the position of the chakra that the singer's mantle symbolizes. The person with the lowest voice part wears the mantle representing the lowest chakra. These mantles symbolize good values and serve as shields against a lack of imagination. The concept of good values spans the entire philosophical history of humanity, from Confucius and Aristotle to the present day. It represents a shared foundation of values that is meant to grow in luminous strength.
