The Jewish Museum is located in Sweden's oldest preserved synagogue in the middle of the Old Town. The museum weaves the history of the Jews in Sweden, finding their place in a new country, with Jewish practice and thought. Contemporary art, a reminder of the links between then and now, has a natural place in the Museum.
During Stockholm Art Week, the Jewish Museum offers a guided tour of the exhibition ”Anna Riwkin – a Swedish Jewish photographer”. Discover the work of one of Sweden’s most internationally renowned photographers. During this special tour you will discover previously unknown personal images, photo albums and archival material from her life. Get to know more about Anna Riwkin’s important but forgotten body of work depicting Jewish life in Sweden, a life she captured and immortalized but also lived. We also showcase some of the photographer’s most legendary images.
