The Östermalm galleries Saskia Neuman Gallery, Andréhn-Schiptjenko; Carling Dalenson, CFHILL, Galerie Nordenhake, STANCE Gallery and Public Service invite guests to art and breakfast on the morning of Saturday — May 17th, from 10.00 - 12.00 (opening hours 10-16).
Andréhn-Schiptjenko will show The Instruments, Sabine Mirlesse’s first solo exhibition and her debut in the Nordic region. In concurrence with the gallery exhibition, Mirlesse also presents an outdoor sculpture installed in the water by Skeppsholmen. Mirlesse (b. 1986) is a Franco-American artist living and working in Paris. Her works are centered around geology and geomancy (the art of divination through readings of geographic features such as markings on the ground or patterns formed by soil, rocks or sand). She takes interest in how sites are measured, interpreted and reproduced through various instruments and her works are often site-specific. Mirlesse’s practice is grounded in her background within mysticism and literature and she works with photography, video, sculpture and text-based works.
