A Day at Kummelholmen #5 Mandy El-Sayegh in collaboration with Alice Walter
Kummelholmen provides a platform for artistic experimentation. A Day at Kummelholmen is a series of temporary exhibitions where art engages with Kummelholmen’s unique environment. Inviting artists to showcase site-specific works or performances created for the present moment. The project aims to establish a platform for artistic experimentation and exploration, highlighting the artist’s current questions and processes. The audience is invited to an intense, ephemeral art experience where works and performances challenge traditional art formats. The series promotes innovation and experimentation, with its transient and temporary nature reflecting contemporary discussions about change, uncertainty, and swift societal reactions.
A Day at Kummelholmen #5 takes place within XXX KISS CROSS KILL an exhibition created by Mandy El-Sayegh in collaboration with Alice Walter, which opened on May 10 at Kummelholmen. Responding to Kummelholmen’s sprawling post-industrial environment, the exhibition features installation, video and sound, with a body of new large-scale paintings. During Stockholm Art Week, the exhibition will be activated through a performance which touches on themes of ritual and war.
