Carling Dalenson will show Ian Davenport in a solo exhibition at Carling Dalenson which is also the artist's first exhibition in Sweden, the exhibition runs from 8 May to 14 June.
Ian Davenport (b. 1966) is a British abstract artist known for his complex colour combinations. He belongs to the YBA generation (Young British Artists) and studied under Michael Craig-Martin at Goldsmiths College in London. His classmates included Sarah Lucas, Gary Hume Damien Hirst and others. Davenport came to attention early on when he participated in Freeze, a student-curated exhibition at Surrey Docks, London Docklands, in 1988 where works by Goldsmiths students were exhibited and which later became known as the YBA (Young British Artists) phenomenon.
