SUPERMARKET - Stockholm Independent Art Fair

Stockholm Independent Art Fair brings together 65 artist-run galleries from 40 cities around the world in a vibrant meeting place for contemporary art. As Sweden's most international art exhibition, it offers a unique platform for discovery, dialogue, and long-term exchange between artists, audiences, and art professionals. In 2026, the 20th edition of SUPERMARKET will transform the Erskine Building in Slakthusområdet (the former meatpacking district) into a dynamic space filled with exhibitions, performances and conversations that reflect the diversity and urgency of artists' practice today. With its strong local roots and global reach, SUPERMARKET is a celebration of artistic collaboration and independent initiatives from across the world.

Highlights during the day:

4 PM - 4.45 PM. ARTIST ROUNDTABLE. The TRYST project and Making Museums Work for Us

Participants: Max Presneill (Torrance Art Museum) (US), Jorin Bossen (Durden and Ray, Los Angeles) (US).

A round-table discussion, led by Jorin Bossen and Max Presneill, about TRYST (A Los Angeles based, international art fair for alternative spaces, like Supermarket, that is run by the Torrance Art Museum). The discussion will ask participants what a healthy working relationship with art institutions should look like in the future. We will address aspects artists want to see in future editions of TRYST and how we can support their actions in trying to make the art fair form more aligned to their needs and whether there are better models to allow these spaces to interact, network and expand their reach.
