In this new series of works, the Brazilian artist Laercio Redondo continues his investigations into disobedient and dissident personalities, who are often underrepresented or simply erased from canonical accounts.
Redondo is particularly interested in hidden or little-studied chapters in the official history of Modernism. The trajectories of the Spanish artist Maruja Mallo and the French-American dancer, actress and singer Josephine Baker are the starting point for the creation of these pieces, made in collaboration with Birger Lipinski.
