Have Western democracies become trapped in endless debates over political correctness and emotion-driven moral management? Have postmodern ideas of cultural relativism undermined Europe's institutions, or has the role of culture increasingly fallen into the hands of American social media and streaming platforms? How are cultural institutions and artistic works affected by the rise of populism? And can culture and art even inadvertently strengthen the appeal of authoritarianism?
Together with the Stockholm School of Economics' Centre for Philosophies of Markets and SSE Art Initiative, we invite you to a symposium exploring the cultural and political consequences of contemporary authoritarianism and populism.
