På Sergels torg is a placemaking initiative in Stockholm. The aim is to revitalise Sergels torg, an iconic central plaza, into a space for people of all ages to experience art and culture. På Sergels torg offers year-round activities accessible to everyone in the heart of Stockholm. 2025 kicks off with performances, workshops, and exhibitions featuring both established and emerging artists. På Sergels torg is a collaboration between the City of Stockholm, local property owners and civil society.
During Stockholm Art Week, artist Malin Gabriella Nordin will be painting the ceiling along Sergelarkaden from April 23 to May 18. The artwork will evolve in dialogue with the space's architecture and the movements within it. Derived from Nordin's sketches—both figurative and abstract—the motifs will spread across the ceiling, merging into a dynamic whole, unified by an intense blue hue. The ceiling painting can be experienced from different angles, shifting in appearance depending on one's viewpoint and movement. It may evoke a starry sky or drifting clouds, where various shapes and constellations emerge to tell their own stories.
