TRIBUN is a temporary art installation at Sergels torg inspired by the soapbox—a simple raised platform historically used for public speech, free expression, and civic participation. While the original speaker’s staircase is under renovation, TRIBUN fills the space with repeating modules that serve as podiums, meeting spots, and areas for rest, waiting, or observation.
The installation creates a shared space where people can see and be seen, meet, converse, and take their place. The boxes act as a democratic foundation—both literally and symbolically.
After the installation is dismantled and the original staircase returns, the individual “soapboxes” can be taken home and reused in new contexts.
Studio PANK, a transdisciplinary design collective, blends architecture, design, art, and landscape with social and ecological perspectives. The project is a collaboration between Studio PANK, På Sergels torg, and the Trafikkontoret.
