Nationalmuseum is Sweden's museum of art and design. Nationalmuseum is also a government authority with a mandate to preserve cultural heritage and promote art, interest in art and knowledge of art. The collections comprise of painting, sculpture, drawings and prints from 1500-1900 and applied arts, design and portraits from early Middle Ages up until present day.

Award-winning artist, punk performer, acclaimed author, and international blacktress Vaginal Davis is coming to Stockholm. In collaboration with Moderna Museet, the Nationalmuseum presents a new installation of Vaginal Davis’s work in The Old Library, evoking her life-long interest in the mystical tales of the wizards and witches of Oz. Additionally, a selection of Vaginal Davis’s iconic paintings will be on display in the adjacent 19th-century collection gallery.
