På Sergels torg is a placemaking initiative in Stockholm. The aim is to revitalise Sergels torg, an iconic central plaza, into a space for people of all ages to experience art and culture. På Sergels torg offers year-round activities accessible to everyone in the heart of Stockholm. 2024 kicks off with performances, workshops, and exhibitions featuring both established and emerging artists. På Sergels torg is a collaboration between the City of Stockholm, local estate owners and civil society.
Residents of coastal cities around the world rely on public transport to reach nearby beaches. Artist Arianna Funk brings a beach atmosphere to the heart of Stockholm at Sergels torg with ¨Plattan Parasoller¨. Arianna draws inspiration from palm trees, the American East Coast, Southern European beaches, and Creamsicle ice cream, as well as traditional decorative weaving techniques such as passementerie. This site-specific work takes cues from Sergels torg itself, particularly the round, three-part windows that illuminate the covered passage to Sergelpassagen. The umbrellas offer a twist on this concept, providing shade on sunny days at Plattan.
The site-specific work runs until September 14.
Open 24/7.
