The Hallwyl Museum was originally built as a private residence in 1893-1898 for Wilhelmina and Walther von Hallwyl. In 1920 the house with all its contents was donated to the nation, and the museum opened in 1938. Today you can visit the preserved home, alongside temporary exhibitions: 
Experience naivism from the forests of Northern Sweden and sculptures from the coast of China. This spring, the Hallwyl Museum presents two art exhibitions featuring artists Lim-Johan and Torsten Jurell.

Programme on Thursday at 2.30 pm:  A guided tour of the exhibition Lim-Johan (in Swedish) with curator Tobias Bolin. Price: 170 SEK, entrance to the museum and our other exhibition The Fish in the Sky by Torsten Jurell is included in the price.

Lim-Johan and The Remarkable Honesty: Johan Erik Olsson (1865–1944), better known as Lim-Johan, is considered one of our foremost Swedish naïve artists. He was born in Hälsingland, the district in northern Sweden, where the forest and surroundings in his hometown were a great inspiration for his well-known artworks.

The Fish in the Sky: The artist Torsten Jurell exhibits at the Hallwyl Museum this spring with his ceramics inspired by Chinese mythology. In his artwork he connects the present with tradition and the Chinese with the Swedish.

Entrance fee: 120 SEK for adults includes a visit to the exhibitions. Free admission for children and youth aged 0-18.
