Opening, Vidar Francke’s “Träffpunkt”, På Sergels torg
Artist Vidar Francke’s ”Träffpunkt” animation visualises a Sergel square in motion. A place of opportunities to hang out and be at. A meeting point where it’s okay just to be yourself, hence the different shapes and colours of the people.
“It was very exciting to animate Sergel’s torg. It’s an iconic place that the vast majority of people recognise. Therefore, it was also a little scary. If I’ve drawn something wrong, people will notice. That is one of the reasons why I chose to be freer in the design language, all the lines are not completely straight, and the proportions are a little here and there.”
Vidar Francke (b.1991) is an animator and illustrator, who works with storytelling from a norm-critical perspective. He is a trained graphic designer and has a master’s in visual communication from Konstfack. Vidar Francke is currently exhibiting his “Made by Humans” project in Slussen’s subway. His new exhibition, “Where we Meet”, will also be shown at Skanstull metro station shortly
